Through the Lens: Giro Summer Sessions
2017 and the 6th anniversary of Through the Lens. The past five years have delivered action, excitement, laughs and entertainment beyond our wildest imagination and it’s a treat to be constantly blown away by the creative talent this competition continues to uncover. Conceived to showcase the incredible local talent both in front of and behind the lens, it is exciting to consider what the future has in store.
This year was no different with a great selection of films showcasing the summer lifestyle here in Queenstown. In a nail-biting finish, The Vanzacs crew edged out Kenji Yamada by just one vote - the closest finish to date!
Unfortunately the Summer Sessions took a breather for 2018 but will be back with more action March 2019!
Keep an eye on our Facebook page for more information on what's going on. In the meantime, get stoked by 2017 winners, the Vanzacs crew!
Back for 2017! SUMMER SESSIONS PHOTO SHOWDOWN
Last year was a hit so for 2017 we brought back something for all the photographers in town. We wanted to see your best Skyline Queenstown gondola accessed images; from the Queenstown Bike Park to Fernhill loop, it's was all fair game. The battle was tight but Matt Wood of Dunedin again prevailed with this great perspective dropping in from the Ben Lomond Saddle (below).
We'll be back for more so start scouting those locations and we'll see you next time!
