Through the Lens Winter Sessions
The Winter Sessions short film competition, now in it's third year, continues to deliver with a great selection of entries celebrating the creative talent both in front of and behind the lens. With both ski and snowboard representing and celebrating everything from the Queenstown lifestyle to fun on the hill with buddies and epic backcountry heli ski missions, the crowd certainly weren't disappointed.
It was a close battle this year with the top two being separated by only a small number of votes. Taking out the win was past entrant and winner of the first Winter Sessions competition, Pete Oswald with his film, 'Temple Peak Teepee Skiing' (below)
Close behind Pete was an entry that celebrated all that is great about the Queenstown lifestyle. Adam Simonik certainly had the crowd vote behind him with his entry, 'High Five to QT' (below)
Rounding out the top 3 was James Chao with his unique entry, 'Bromatic Battle Final'.
A huge congratulations goes out to all those who entered a film on the night for what was our biggest field yet. With the Through the Lens Summer Sessions firmly established as the premier mountain bike short film in the Southern Lakes (if not the whole of New Zealand), we don't doubt that the winter crew are chomping close at their heels.
